Inspiration – Ann Taylor
Love love love this outfit. Grey and lilac with silver accents makes me feel pretty and springy. And I love the little bit of snake print in shoe to give it a touch of fun.
My very first WordPress post! Fingers crossed that this makes it’s way out to the interwebs okay! Only hiccup right now is some images are displaying at all kinds of crazy sizes for no good reason. But other thing that things seem pretty smooth…
If you’re in the mood to share – I’d love to hear what you think! Especially about the sidebar drop down results for things like, “Outfits by Occasion.” Or using search box for fun terms like, “Black pants” or “Work skirts.”Β Yay for organization!! π

Hi, just to say I LOVE the new website. I’ve already used the new search drop-down boxes and they are great. I’ve always loved how your site is so easy to search – I’ve used it for countless clothing items for your ideas on how to wear them – but love the speed/ease of those new boxes. Congrats! I am a longtime fan of this blog and I’ve always been amazed at how you fit everything you do into your week. And you seem lovely!
Best regards
Amanda
PS and I never imagined your name was Mary Kate. Was sure it would be Michelle something…. Xx
Thanks! I’m so glad you like the updates!
I’m actually really not Mary Kate or Michelle. Mary Kate/MK is actually my blog pseudonym based on a nickname my best friend and I have for each other from way back when. I’m MK and she’s Ashley. Hee hee. π
Ha ha love those nicknames! X Amanda
The new layout looks great, very sophisticated. The drop-downs on the side are super convenient as well. I rarely go back to blogs to look for outfit inspiration because you’d be searching for days, but I frequently come back to yours because I can actually find what I’m looking for. Sidenote – I saw a post in bloglovin’ that said “bloglovin’ test”, but this actual post hasn’t come through on bloglovin’ for me.
Awesome! Glad to hear you like it and find it useful!
Thanks for the updated. I wrote a Bloglovin’ post as a test and then deleted it trying to work through some stuff. Thought I deleted it quickly – but I guess it had already propagated out. π
I love the new site! Great job!
I did link through Bloglovin and did get a 404 error…no worries, it told me to visit the “homepage.”
Great outfit too!
Thanks!
When you got the 404 error did you happen to be on mobile?
Sorry for the delayed response! Looks like others have also alerted you. Yes, I use an iPad for bloglovin.
I got a 404 error on the homepage at the top. I’m on mobile and I’m having a hard time with the ads now and I can’t seem to find a menu?
Thanks for letting me know! I’m seeing mobile issues also. I am working on sorting them out.
The photo’s also load very slow on my phone now, I do like the layout but I thought the other was more simple and easier to navigate from mobile π
Thanks for the feedback! I’ll see what I can do!
I liove the look! I’m not getting the drop down menu on the iPad and the three little lines menu thingy gives me a x.
Thanks! Ok – thanks for letting me know! I will check it out!
Love the new layout, have been a silent fan for about a year now. I have a clothing-related questions, specifically about cardigans/button up sweaters. What’s the best way to make sure you are buying the right size cardi? I notice in both photos posted that the models are wearing them open. Should they be a smaller size to allow a better drape? When I buy them, I make sure that I can button them up comfortably. That being said, I have a selection of them in my closet in all the colours of the rainbow (I’m a Librarian in a cold basement so cardis, even in summer, are a must) and in a variety of sizes. All your outfit photos for the lilac cardi show it being worn open so I am just curious about the right way to size and wear a (full button not boyfriend) cardigan. Love your posts, thanks so much!
Thanks! I think for cardigans it’s personal preference. I have a larger chest so I have to buy cardigans a little bigger to close them not have them strain at the buttons. So I sort of have some cardigans I wear as open only and some that are able to be worn either way. The lilac cardigan is smaller so it’s an open only one. π
I love the drop down menus!! I love easy to navigate blogs! Especially yours because your suitcase posts and your posts showing how you styled one specific item is great to be able to find so easily!
Yay! π
Just wanted to comment to say that I LOVE your blog. I love that you post your inspiration photos and then your own which shows how easy it is to replicate an outfit even without all the exact pieces. I feel like you are one of the few ootd bloggers left who haven’t sold out and become a “shopping” blog. Really appreciate what you’re doing here (especially as a fellow full time professional and a mom who likes to keep stylish and interesting on a budget).
Aww shucks. Thanks so much! So happy to hear you enjoy the blog!
Love love love the new design. This is amazing!! The drop down menus are helpful and the search is working very well for me! The only thing I’d say is that the font is a little difficult to read. Otherwise, I love your blog!
Ok. Thanks for the feedback. I’ll take a look at the font and see what I can do! π
It all looks great! I really like the drop down options and I can pin directly from the images (I couldn’t previously but that may have been an issue at my end).
Yay!
Love the new website and all of the organized drop-downs! I love coming to your blog for inspiration. You’ve helped me concoct new outfits when I’m just returning to work after maternity leave. (And you make me feel normal for feeling like my body is out of whack and, also, inspired to get my body back post-baby as you have!)
Congrats on your little one! Good luck on your transition back to the working world! I felt out of whack and not like my ‘normal’ self for a full year. Just trying to get my feet under me for my new ‘normal.’ And I still have a bunch of days where I still don’t know which way is up. I just tell myself slow and steady steps in the right direction will eventually get me where I want to go. π
Hi, Can you update us on youyr fitness/weight loss progress. I find it very motivating to read about how you managed to lose the pregnancy weight – congratulations – you look great!
I definitely need to put a post together about it. The quick summary is I tried to eat really really healthy, watch my portions and walk a lot.
