Last week my husband and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary with a trip to where we got married – Negril, Jamaica. It was a much needed break from the madness of everyday life lately.
I’ve been a mess for the past month with long long working hours that are spilling over into all aspects of my life. Early mornings. Late nights. Work work work. And then more work.
The morning we of our trip – I got up at 5 and worked until I had only 15 minutes to cram random things into a carry-on and run out the door. It was definitely not a thoughtful blog-worthy suitcase of cute outfits. And while I was there it didn’t even occur to me to try and be an amazing travel blogger with good photos of what I wore, casually posing like I was having the best time ever in front of cool sites.
But I did take the normal random vacation photos wearing clothes – so here are some of those photo and what I happened to be wearing in them…
Rockhouse Restaurant – amazing place to watch the sunset.
We got married next door to Rockhouse at Tensing Pen. A tiny and super beautiful cliffside resort.
I wore a tank top and cutoff jean shorts. Brought some dressy dresses but after a day of traveling – I just couldn’t bring myself to be anything but comfortable. Even though it is a ‘nice’ restaurant – I fit in just fine – there were people as casual as just wearing swim cover-ups.
We stayed a short drive from the cliffs of Negril on Seven Mile beach. One night we walked down the beach until we found a random barely marked restaurant and had some amazing fish and veggies baked in foil. And watched the sunset.
View of Seven Mile Beach from our hotel room.
Brought two swim suits on this trip – both from Asos. But because I’m no bathing suit model – here’s a picture of me in the yellow suit which you can’t see because I’m wearing a cover up. 🙂
Photo of my foot and the ocean view from my chair.
This is a terrible outfit photo. But it’s the only photo I have of this dress and of this upgraded sexy fishnet black one piece swimsuit. (Finally stopped wearing my security-blanket ruched postpartum black swimsuit.) Husband took it of my back because I was walking really fast to get to some delicious fresh grilled jerk chicken. And rice and peas. Which, in Jamaica, is actually rice and pinto beans. But whatever you call it – yum. Who has time for poses?
