Inspiration – Old Navy
Last weekend Hubs, Skylar and I piled in the car after work and drove to Highlands, NC for a quick vacation with my parents. We had a great few days eating, hiking and hanging out together enjoying the break from the Florida heat.
I wore this outfit on the first full day in the mountains. We did some leaf peeping, light hiking to see some waterfalls and then picked up fancy grocery take-out to eat as the sun went down at a beautiful place called Sunset Rock.

Skylar at Dry Falls. (It’s called ‘Dry Falls’ because you can walk behind it without getting wet.) We’ve been coming to Highlands since I was a baby and I have so many pictures of me & my siblings in this exact spot on the trail to the falls. It’s so cool to now have the same shot of Skylar.
She loved the light spray of water.
“Me jump me jump! Three… three… three!” (She can’t count down before doing something so she just repeats ‘three’ until she jumps.)
Playing in a little secret cave.
We picked up delicious take-out dinner at a nearby fancy grocery store and took it to a spot called “Sunset Rock” to finish off our day. The weather was beautiful (temperature dropped a bit so I added a fleece over my outfit) and it was a perfect way to end a great family day.
