It’s the new year and time for those resolutions! I got excited and motivated and focused and was ready to jump into 2018 with a bang! My plan was that when I headed back into work this week I was going to be super prepared. I wanted to have a clean house and fridge full of pepped & easy to make healthy meals. And then I could jump into the workweek with some 5:30 am workouts, cute outfits, fun blog posts and then kill it at the office by taking on fresh new projects. I’ve had a mental break! I’m ready! It’s time to dig and and tackle all the things!
But the universe likes to giggle when we get too ahead of ourselves planning and bestowed upon me the gift of a persistent toddler cough for the past week. Consistent coughing 24/7 mean toddler consistently waking up every 15 minutes which means she can’t sleep and a turns into very grumpy two year old. 3 AM end of the world is coming yell, “WIPE MY NOSE MOM!!! AGGGHHH! WIPE! MY! NOSE!!!”
Which means even less sleep for me. For past five nights. I had forgotten how terrible not sleeping for so many consecutive days really is. The lack of more then an hour straight of sleep feels like I have a newborn again and my ability to be a functional human has gone from superstar to survival status.
But luckily this first week back at work isn’t intense. And the gym will be there next week. And most of all hopefully Monday’s Pediatrician visit and an antibiotics prescription will work their magic soon and give some reprieve to my poor little miserable nugget.
